Right or wrong?

I understand that some things can be correct or incorrect, like spelling or answers on a test, but what I don't understand is why some people think that our reactions, thoughts or feelings are correct or incorrect.
The way I see it is that they are shades of grey, "a hairy subject" that is neither correct or incorrect. It simply is what it is, which I see as favorable or unfavorable rather than right or wrong.
This 'note' is a result of people consistently telling me that I'm right or that my opinion is wrong. I don't like to think that my thoughts, feelings or actions are correct or incorrect, it's an opinion of which we are all entitled. I view opinions as a beautiful and unique thing. We all have our own point(s) of view. It's like we are all looking through a camera lens at the same object, and once we express our prospective on the subject we can compile the information and create a dimensional understand and be more capable of 'grokking' the situation at hand.
I've decided to throw out right and wrong from my vocabulary, primarily because I've noticed within myself that it naturally evokes a defensive reaction and also because I'd like to respectfully embrace others points of view in their thoughts, feelings and/ or reactions.
Correct or incorrect will stick to the school books, but I will not ignore the shades of grey.

You and I are shades of grey, with hints of color, texture, depth and so much more. We are one of a kind, not an assembally line item. So love yourself and be confident, cause no one else is capable of filling such a beautiful and unique pair of shoes that were designed to fit you and you alone.
